This is a NEW Heavy Duty 4wd Dodge Ram 48RE Overdrive Housing For The Diesel & V10 Trucks. NEW 48RE 4x4 Overdrive Housing HD Upgrade Kit 2003 & Later 4wd Dodge Ram Diesel & V10 Trucks 4 Speed Automatic Transmission.
Kit Includes: Output Seal, Output Bearing Snap Ring, Trans Case & Transfer Case Gaskets. This is a redesigned & upgraded overdrive housing that is a direct replacement for the factory one that bolts to the rear of the transmission on 2003 & later 4x4 Dodge Ram Trucks with the 48RE automatic trans. No modifications needed, all the original internal factory & aftermarket parts fit. We also include the snap ring for OD housing to output bearing because they are prone to wearing which allows too much end play in the overdrive section.
If your OD housing is broken in the rear half area, especially where the transfer case bolts up, you most likely have a driveline type vibration, loose transfer case mounting bolts or a mount issue of some kind that will break any housing you put on there again if you don't find the problem.
